  * **"I tested with a different company. Can I join your project?"**
We are currently limiting new joins to those who have been SNP confirmed as HVs and Hs.

  * **"FTDNA won’t recognize my kit number."**
Does the one you're trying to use start with an "FW"? If so, that's your ID for National Geographic's Genographic Project. However, if you received our invite to join the Haplogroup H Project that means at some point you uploaded your test results from the Genographic Project to FamilyTreeDNA. During the transfer process FTDNA would have assigned you a new kit number, starting with an "N", followed by a series of numbers. A typical password to go with that starts with a capital letter, followed by four numbers.

  * **"I tested through FTDNA; how do I join your project?"**
First log in to your account at www.ftdna.com using the kit number and password they assigned you. Once logged in, you should see a blue "Join" square at the middle top of your account page. Clicking on that will take you to Group Join. Scroll down to the bottom, where you'll find the mtDNA Haplogroup Projects section. Clicking on the "H" will show you the available H projects, including ours (listed as H mtDNA Haplogroup). Choose that link. You should then see a brief description for our group, as well as our website addresses; click the "Join" button and that should do it.
